Wilmer E. Ishee, Sr., 91, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, in New Braunfels, Texas. He was born on October 12, 1934, in Laurel, Mississippi to Vien and Bessie Ishee.
Wilmer retired from British Petroleum and built a home and had a farm in Nacogdoches where he raised cattle. He loved gardening as well as hunting and fishing. He lived in Lake Jacksonville for many years, moved to Nederland then to New Braunfels, Texas.
Wilmer had a strong Faith in God and values that guided him through his life. He wanted all of his family, whom he loved dearly, to know the Lord as their Savior and put their Faith in Him.
Wilmer is survived by his son, Olen and his wife, Ellen, daughter-in-law, Mary, and brother, James. Wilmer was devoted to his grandchildren, Tyler, Austin, Delayna, Angela, Jon, and his wife, Vickie, Julie Gilliland and her husband, Stephen, as well as his great grandchildren, Caleb Spade, Emily and Samantha Ishee, Katherine and Madeline Gilliland.
Wilmer was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Martha, daughter-in-law, Karen, brothers, Lamar and Olen, and son, Wilmer Ishee, Jr.
Wilmer will be honored with a visitation to be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas, following the service.
