William "Bill" Messer

William “Bill” Messer, 75 of Kingwood, Texas passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Cascades of Port Arthur. Bill was born in Houston, Texas on March 9, 1948 to the late, Pierce and Lora Messer.
Bill enjoyed playing music and played with the band known as The Moving Sidewalks before they became the group known as ZZ Top.
Those left to cherish Bill’s memory include his sons, Shawn Messer of San Antonio, Texas, Chad Messer of Orange, Texas, Jeremy Messer of San Antonio, Texas, Eric Messer and his wife, Rachel of Port Arthur, Texas; his daughters, Echo Shelton of Magnolia, Texas and Barbara Ashley of Pass Christian, Mississippi; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Pierce and Lora Messer; his brothers, Johnny Messer and Lee Messer; and his sisters, Mary Messer and Rose Lee Messer.
Cremation is under the direction of Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
