William Edward Blackman, affectionately known as Bill, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, in Port Arthur, Texas, at age of 89. Born on February 16, 1936, in London, England, Bill’s journey through life was marked by his dedication to service, his compassion for others, and his enduring love for family.

Bill demonstrated a commitment to service that continued throughout his life, notably during his time working with the Red Cross. He traveled extensively with the organization, embodying the very spirit of compassion and care. Bill's vocation as a chiropractor allowed him to touch the lives of many, providing relief and healing to those in need. He was respected for both his skill and his deeply caring nature.

As a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Nederland, Bill's faith informed his character and actions. He was well-regarded in his community, always ready to lend a helping hand and share a kind word. His love for life extended beyond his profession and service, as he balanced his career with a variety of hobbies and interests. An avid collector, Bill found joy in amassing coins and stamps, treasures that reflected his appreciation for history and culture.

A man of many talents, Bill also enjoyed bowling, a passion he pursued from a young age. His love for the game brought him camaraderie and joy, as he took pride in being a member of a bowling team for many years.

Bill is survived by his beloved family, which includes his sons, Michael William Blackman of Australia and Stuart Edward Blackman along with his wife, Paula Tiss, also of Australia. He leaves behind a cherished daughter, Denise Scott and her husband, Doug of Nome, Texas, as well as another daughter, Denette Marchand and her husband, Elvin of Nederland. Bill was a proud grandfather to Carissa Blackman, and her husband, Harley Duffin, and Jasmine Blackman. His family continued to grow with the addition of great-grandchildren Ayvalee Duffin and Dustin Duffin. He is also remembered fondly by his sisters Maureen and Rosalind, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill joins in eternal rest his beloved wife of ten years, Sherry Blackman, and his brothers Alisdare, David, Keith, and Wayne, all of whom he missed dearly.

William Edward Blackman's life was a testament to kindness, dedication, and love. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift the many hearts he touched throughout his remarkable journey.
