Wesley Don Stukey

Wesley Don Stukey passed away on April 12, 2009 at the age of 83. Don, a native of Carl Junction, Missouri, was born on October 5, 1925. He lived in Nederland for 48 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, DeRoy Clark Stukey and Ethel Mae Stanley Stukey two sons, Dennis Stukey and David Stukey and one granddaughter, Kristen Nicole Stukey sisters, June Litwiler and Leona Johnson brothers, Doug Stukey and twin brother Leslie Dee Stukey. He is survived by his wife, Doris Fitzjohn Stukey of 62 years son, Daryl Stukey and daughter, Debra Stukey, all of Nederland, Texas.Don was a veteran of WWII. He received 9 Battle Stars for his service in the Navy aboard the heavy cruiser USS Wichita. He moved to Nederland, Texas in 1961 to work for DuPont as an operator. He retired from DuPont after 45 years of service. Don also served faithfully as a deacon at Seventh Street Baptist Church in Nederland. He was a member of the Carl Junction, Missouri Masonic Lodge 549.The family will receive friends at Heritage Funeral Home 1605 Ave. H in Nederland on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 58 pm. Services for Don will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Seventh Street Baptist Church in Nederland with Rev. Wilton McGowin and Rev. L. C. Roots officiating. Burial will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Family Life Center at Seventh Street Baptist Church, PO Box 745, Nederland, TX
