1952 ∼ 2026

Wayne K. Richter

Wayne K. Richter, born on July 30, 1952, in Port Arthur, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, in Groves, Texas. He was a beloved figure known for his dedication to his family and his steadfast work ethic throughout his life.

Wayne proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, an experience that shaped much of his character and instilled a sense of duty and commitment in him. After returning from military service, he embarked on a career as a Welder in the shipyard, where he honed his skills and contributed significantly to his community for many years.

In addition to his professional life, Wayne's interests were varied and vibrant. He found great joy in fishing and barbecuing, often spending delightful afternoons perfecting his craft. There was also a special place in his heart for his truck, which he took pride in polishing and maintaining. His sporting passion extended to the Dallas Stars hockey team, of which he was a devoted fan, frequently attending games to cheer them on.

Wayne is survived by his loving daughter, Amy Richter; his cherished grandson, Stephen Hamm; and his supportive sisters, Jean Redick (Steve) and Christine Ducote (Nick). He was preceded in death by his father, Kermit, and mother, Elsie.

A graveside service to honor Wayne’s life will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas, on January 21, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM. As we remember Wayne, we celebrate a life dedicated to family, hard work, and the joys of life that he embraced fully.
