Vonnie Lee Monk

Vonnie Lee Strother Monk, on June 20, 2009, returned home to be with her Heavenly Father. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Oak Bluff Memorial Park Cemetery in Port Neches, TX.Vonnie, a former resident of Port Neches, TX, was the twin daughter born to Mason and Ludie Strother on April 7, 1921 in Oakdale, LA. Vonnie served alongside her husband James, in various ministries at First Baptist Church in Pt. Neches for many years. Vonnie loved to sew, play games and cook bountiful feasts for her family and others.Vonnie is joining her loving husband, James V. Monk in Heaven as well as her parents, her sisters Marie Vice and Muriel Strother and twin brother Voy Strother. She is survived by her daughter Janice Moore and husband Donald of Waxahachie, TX, her son Wayne Monk and wife Sharon of Lumberton, TX, her son Patrick Monk and his wife Marty of Kilgore, TX, her daughter Sheila Parry and her husband Art of Arlington, TX, as well as 8 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren.Vonnie39s care is entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home, 1605 Ave H, Nederland, TX 776275343, 409 7220218.
