Troy Alan Simmons, a beloved son, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, in Mena, Arkansas. Born on August 24, 1967, in Port Arthur, Texas, Troy lived a life marked by his adventurous spirit and cherished connections. Troy served his country in the Navy and then entered the Environmental Services Industry as a Field Technician.
Troy found immense joy in life's simple pleasures and thrilling pursuits. He had a deep passion for motorcycles and medieval re-enactment, relishing in the freedom of the open road and engaging with his closest friends through their shared hobbies. The quiet challenge of hunting and being outdoors brought him peace, and he delighted in the exploration of new culinary experiences, always eager to try different places to eat. These passions enriched his life and brought him many memorable moments.
He is lovingly remembered by his father, Tracy "Shorty" Simmons, and his wife Donita; his mother, Linda Carol Simmons; and his devoted daughters, Tori Simmons and husband Isaul, and Emily Simmons. Troy's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Bentley Simmons and Briella Knepp. He also leaves behind his brother, Todd Simmons, and his sister Tiffini Prouse, who will miss him dearly.
Troy was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Genive Simmons and Melva Davis, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms. His memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved him.
Troy will be remembered with a visitation on Wednesday, July 15, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland.
