Terry Joseph Fontanille, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, in Groves, Texas, at the age of 78. Born on November 30, 1946, in Bunkie, Louisiana, Terry was a man of unwavering faith and devotion, known for his warm spirit and love for music.
A cherished member of the Faith Tabernacle in Nederland, and later, the Nederland Apostolic Church, Terry found joy in participating actively within his church community. He was known for playing instruments and singing for the church, sharing his musical talents with a congregation that loved and admired him. His commitment to his faith was matched only by the deep connections he nurtured with his church family, which brought him immense joy throughout his life.
Terry's greatest pride and joy came from his family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 57 years, Elaine Fontanille, who was his steadfast partner in life. His daughters, Amy Lynn and her husband, Campos, and Jessica Faye and her husband, Allen, along with Heather Ellen Fontanille of Nederland, carry forward his legacy of kindness and love. He was a proud grandfather to Travis Fontanille, Bradley Allen, Hailey Allen, Justin Campos, and Haven Fontanille Martinez, and he was delighted to be a great-grandfather to Brayden, Ella, Bowie, and Ava. Terry's warmth and wisdom will forever resonate in the hearts of his family and friends.
