Stanley Charles Holik, Jr., a beloved family man, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024, in Groves, Texas, at the age of 93. He was born on October 3, 1930, in Port Arthur, Texas, and his life was marked by a commitment to family, hard work, and a love for gardening.
Stanley served honorably in the United States Army, a testament to his character and dedication to service. Following his military career, he spent many years as an industrial painter with the Service Painting Company, where he earned the respect of his colleagues and contributed to his community in meaningful ways.
Stanley's love for his family was profound, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He is survived by three adoring children: his daughters, Stephanie Chaplain (John) of Liberty and Marcia Phillips (J.D.) of Amarillo, and his son, Ross Mickey of Amarillo. Stanley found great joy in being a grandfather to ten grandchildren and a great-grandfather to several great-grandchildren, whose lives were enriched by his kindness and warmth.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 46 years, Iris L. Holik, who was his partner and confidante throughout their life together. Stanley also mourned the loss of his sons, Cecil Mickey and Patrick Mickey, whose absence left a deep void in his heart.
A graveside service to celebrate Stanley's life will be held on September 10, 2024, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas, beginning at 2:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a man who truly lived for his family and fostered a love for the earth through his gardening.
Stanley Charles Holik, Jr. will be fondly remembered for his gentle spirit, dedication to his craft, and the enduring legacy of love he leaves behind.
