Shirley Yanko, a cherished resident of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on December 21, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on October 29, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, she lived a life marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to her family.

As a dedicated Safety Technician at the refinery, Shirley was known for her diligent work ethic and her ability to bring a touch of humor to the workplace. Her colleagues admired her straightforwardness and her capacity to engage with others, always sharing a joke or a funny story that brightened their days. Shirley embodied the qualities of a simple lady, being laid back yet profoundly influential as a role model to her children and grandchildren.

Shirley will be greatly missed by her partner in life, Bobby Ephraim. She was a loving sister to her siblings, Tommy Yanka and Ronald Yanka, who along with his wife, Sylvia, will remember her fondly. She was the proud mother of her four daughters, Angela Rosas Walters, Mindy Walters, Gina Pressler, and Rosie Walters, and one son, Starsky Ephraim. Shirley’s love for her family was evident in everything she did, and she took immense joy as a grandmother and great-grandmother to her beloved grandchildren: Jose Huerta, Samantha Walters, Mario Meraz, Julian Meraz, Seth Ball, Mirna Theriot, Henery Pressler, Nicole Pressler, and. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Bryan Saldana, Addyson Ruiz, Aaron Ruiz, Carson Theriot, Jace Theriot, Jaxson Theriot, Maddox Meraz, Jayden Meraz, and Delilah Meraz, And also by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Ann Yanka, her twin brother, Steve Yanka, her brother, Donald Yanka, and her sister, Gardenia Yanka.

Shirley’s spirit was that of an open and honest nature, unafraid to speak her mind while being an unwavering support to her loved ones. You could always count on her to present a straightforward and honest opinion about life in general or whatever subject you gave her. Her strict yet loving approach raised her girls with care, imbuing them with values that resonate to this day. Shirley adored her dogs and filled her home with warmth and joy, characteristic of her simple, yet beautifully affectionate lifestyle. She will be remembered not only for her achievements but for the laughter she brought into the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral service being held at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas, on December 27, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM. Shirley Yanko’s life was a testament to love and joy; she will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those she touched.
