Sara G. "Tiny" Brown Watson, 92, of Port Neches passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Pelican Bay Assisted Living, Beaumont, Texas after a long decline from dementia.
She was born on April 1, 1931 in Merkel, Texas to Ernest Yates Brown and Annie Wall Brown. She was raised in Midland, Texas and a graduate of Midland High School and Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. She earned a bachelor degree in Elementary Education and was a member of the Cowgirls and Cowgirls band where she met the love of her life and later husband of 65 years William Kenneth (Coach) Watson. She was an elementary teacher for Fort Stockton ISD and later Port Neches-Groves ISD where she retired after many years of service. She was an active member at the First Baptist Church of Port Neches as a Sunday school teacher until the age of 87, choir member, ladies handbell choir, vacation bible school teacher, a Deacon's wife serving on the Lord Supper Committee, sewing for the Christmas Pageants and other church projects.
Her family has always been the center of her devotion and generosity which includes survivors: brother Y.E. Brown, son Doug Watson and wife Theresa, daughter Carol Anne Watson Harley and husband Richard, grandchildren - Michelle Flores Gentile and husband Blake, Ben Watson and wife Stefani, Shawn Flores and wife Ale, and Devin Harley and wife Pinkee, 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Port Neches followed by the 2:00 p.m. service and burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Youth Program at the First Baptist Church of Port Neches or the youth program of your choosing.
