Ruby G. Rees, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on August 13, 2025, in Port Arthur, Texas, at the age of 73. Born on February 25, 1952, in Batesville, Mississippi, she led a life marked by dedication, love, and community spirit.

Ruby brought her vibrant personality and steadfast commitment to her career as a Maintenance Inspector for the Texas Department of Transportation, where she devoted 20 years of her life. Prior to that, she showcased her skills at ISI Construction in Houston, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and friends alike. Her work ethic reflected her belief in serving the community and contributing to the betterment of the roads her fellow Texans traveled.

A beloved member of the United Methodist Church in Port Neches, Ruby found strength in her faith and was known for her generous spirit within her church community. Her love for family was unparalleled; she relished the roles she embraced as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ruby created countless memories with her loved ones, providing support, laughter, and unwavering love.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Harry J. Rees, of Port Neches; her son, Richard William Allen and his wife, Pam of Groves; her daughter, Merideth Clay and her husband, Shawn, of Port Neches; her sister, Barbara Bibby of Jasper; her grandchildren, Ashlie Allen, Corey Allen, Ryan Mathewson, and Meagan Martin and her husband, Dustin; and her great-grandchildren, Aubrey Martin, Ryleigh Pierson, Owen Pierson, and Braxton Martin. Each family member carries forward her legacy of kindness and compassion.

Ruby was not only a nurturing figure at home but also a passionate animal lover, reveling in her time spent with her beloved cats, dogs, and fish. She had a unique sense of joy in shopping, often seen with a bright smile as she browsed through her favorite stores.

She was preceded in death by her parents, O.C. and Willie Allen, her brothers, Johnny Wayne Allen and Rodger Dale Allen, and her sister, Carylon Palermo. Although they are no longer by her side, their memories and love remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Ruby G. Rees will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, her unwavering dedication to family and community, and the lasting impact she made on the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her loved ones, forever cherished and deeply missed. The family finds solace in knowing that she is no longer suffering and is now at peace.
