Ruby Jewel Adams

Ruby Jewel Adams, 93, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, in Port Arthur, Texas. She was born on March 20, 1933, in Colmesneil, Texas to the late Vernon and Sylvia Sturrock.

Ruby dedicated five years to Texas Health and Human Services following her retirement from Gulf States Consolidated. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Port Neches, Texas. Known for her loving and caring nature, Ruby cherished time with her grandchildren, made the best tea cakes, and found joy in solving puzzles and reading.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Adams McMillian of Lumberton, Texas, and Rebecca Adams of Port Neches, Texas. Ruby is also survived by her grandchildren, Jory Everette McMillian, Tara Lynn McMillian, and Scott McMillian, and her sisters, Elma Ray Minyard and Norma Clubb.

Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Kenneth Everette Adams, Sr.; her son, Kenneth Everette Adams, Jr.; her son-in-law, John McMillian; her sister, Wynell Hollomon; and her parents, Vernon and Sylvia Sturrock.
