A Life Remembered
Obituary
Rubin “George” Rodriguez, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, found eternal peace on September 25, 2026, in Orange, Texas. Born on December 25, 1965, in Hammond, Indiana, Rubin lived a life defined by service, family, friendship, music, creativity, and an unmistakable sense of humor.
Rubin proudly served in the United States Army, where he earned multiple Army Commendation Medals for his service as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Rubin was a true lover of music, and one of his greatest joys was singing karaoke at Locals Pub, where he found a second family among the many friends he made through countless performances as “Furious George.” He loved to sing, but just as much, he loved the people, laughter, and memories that came with it.
He especially loved sharing his taste in music with his granddaughter, Valerie. He introduced her to the songs and artists he loved and encouraged her to find the confidence to sing in front of a crowd. Sharing that love of music with her created memories she will carry with her forever.
Rubin was also a talented craftsman and tinkerer who loved working with electronics, woodworking, fixing things, and taking on new projects. He had a natural curiosity and could often be found figuring out how something worked, or finding a way to fix it. His creativity and ingenuity were simply part of who he was.
Rubin held a special place in his heart for his late wife, Marki Rodriguez. He often sang songs in her memory, keeping her close through the music they shared and the memories they created together.
Rubin was deeply proud of each of his children and often shared that pride with others. He spoke about their accomplishments, the paths they had taken, and the lives they had built. No matter where life led them, being their father remained one of the greatest and proudest parts of his life.
Rubin is survived by his loving children: Noah Martin and his wife, Lindsay; Natascha Bazan and her husband, Ben; Anna Lalor and her husband, Michale; Amelia Fletcher; Carlton Boyd and his wife, Katherine; Julia Boman and her husband, Bradley; and Kristen Rodriguez and her fiancé, Martin. He also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren; his brothers, Saul Rodriguez, Israel Rodriguez, Joel Rodriguez, and Mark Rodriguez; and his sister, Melinda Rodriguez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Israel and Martha Rodriguez; his beloved wife, Marki Rodriguez; and his sister, Ida Rodriguez.
Rubin will be deeply missed by his family, friends, karaoke family, and everyone who knew and loved him. His humor, music, stories, creativity, and the countless memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
