Roger Dale Major

Roger Dale Major, 80, of Groves, Texas, passed away December 22, 2022, at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Groves.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Officiating will be Reverend J.C. Coon.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.

Roger aka TJoe, PawPaw was born on January 23rd, 1942, in Maypearl Texas. He was a devoted husband and father. Roger was inducted into the Army in 1964 where he served in the Vietnam war earning a Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal.

He is preceded in death by his parents Cecil M Major & Sylvia E McElhaney, sisters Ruth Schoenberg, Evelyn Gauthier, Lois Coleman and Yunita Bourque, brother Bubba Schoenberg and great grandson Mason Champagne.

Roger is survived by his loving wife Delores Major, 2nd Dad to his niece Robin Lasiter of Montgomery, nephews Keith Schoenberg and wife Mandy, Mauriceville, Bobby Joe Schoenberg, Arkansas, and the late Eric Schoenberg and wife Brenda, Nederland, TX, stepchildren Kathy Tredway of Beaumont, David Champagne and wife Vicki of Alvin, Carl Champagne, and wife Sandra of Georgia, and Janet Leblanc and husband Jerry of Fannett and surviving sister Doris Gene Hathcock of Alvarado. He adored all his 7 grandkids and 10 great grandkids and many other nieces and nephews.
