Robert "Bob" Peddycoart, Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, departed this life on January 25, 2026, at the age of 88, in Nederland, Texas. Born on August 19, 1937, in Dundee, Minnesota, Bob was known for his easygoing nature and warm spirit that embraced all those around him.
Bob dedicated many years of his life to the grocery industry, specifically in the produce section, where he earned a reputation for excellence and integrity. His esteemed career was marked by his commitment to quality and his genuine care for his customers. A devoted Catholic, he was not only a loving family man but also a steadfast member of the Knights of Columbus.
Family gatherings were a highlight of Bob's life, where laughter and joy echoed through the air as he lovingly shared stories from growing up on his family's farm, captivating all with his gentle giant demeanor and an ever-present smile. His pride in his grandchildren was evident, as he could often be found watching their sporting events, cheering them on with unconditional support. In his leisure time, Bob enjoyed playing the card game 99, fishing, woodworking, and driving tractors, each pastime reflecting his appreciation for both creativity and the outdoors.
Bob leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years, Maggie Peddycoart; children Rob Peddycoart and his wife, Laurie; Mari Menard and her husband, Ward; Charles Peddycoart and his wife, Madeline; and Patsy Godwin and her husband, Gary; along with his cherished grandchildren, Dane Peddycoart and his wife, Morgan; Kerstie Godwin, Matthew Peddycoart and his wife, Sara; Zachary Peddycoart and his wife, Emily; Aidan Peddycoart, and Jillian Peddycoart. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Greyer Peddycoart and Navy Peddycoart, and his brother, Patrick "Pat" Peddycoart and his wife, Judy.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Orvel and Florence Peddycoart; brothers, Thomas "Tom" Peddycoart and Joseph "Joe" Peddycoart; sister, Alice Cook; and his daughter, Annette Peddycoart.
Services to honor the life of Robert "Bob" Peddycoart, Sr. will be held on January 30, 2026. Visitation will take place at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches, Texas beginning at 9:00 AM and concluding at 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at, 11AM, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches.
Bob Peddycoart's legacy lives on in the hearts of those he loved and those who loved him. His gentle spirit, passion for family, and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
