Ricky Louis Bruce, Jr., a cherished member of his family and community, passed away on December 28, 2025, in Hamshire, Texas. He was born on September 21, 1955, in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, and lived a life full of love, laughter, and passion for the outdoors.

Ricky dedicated a significant part of his career to the oilfield industry, where he demonstrated his unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence. He served in the United States Army from 1973 to 1977, demonstrating his dedication to his country and further shaping the man he would become.

He was a man who truly loved life, embracing every moment with enthusiasm and a bright spirit. Ricky's hobbies included fishing and camping, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and create lasting memories with family and friends.

He was immensely proud of his family, cherishing the time spent with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his two daughters, Deidre Hodges and her fiancé, Roger, and Rachel Booker and her husband, Hank. Ricky also leaves behind his beloved grandsons, Dalton Hodges and his girlfriend, Jacey, Darren Hodges, Eric Bruce-Nash, Braylon Bruce, and Kayden Norris.

Ricky is also survived by his loving sisters, Annette Masi and her husband, Mike, and Yvette Ballard and her husband, Carlo, as well as his brother, Joe Bruce. He enjoyed the close companionship of several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will profoundly miss his warmth and engaging personality.

Ricky is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Valerie Bruce; his son, Joey Bruce; his parents, Richard Bruce, Sr. and Constance Flanders Myers; his brothers, Hank Bruce and Robert Bruce; and his nephew, Nick Bruce. Each of them holds a special place in the hearts of those who remember him.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Ricky's life will be held at Ricky's House in Hamshire, Texas, on January 3, 2026, starting at noon. This gathering serves as an opportunity for family and friends to come together, share their stories, and honor a life well-lived.

Ricky Louis Bruce, Jr. will be fondly remembered for his love of life, his devotion to family, and the joy he brought to those around him. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched and the memories that will forever hold a place in the hearts of his loved ones.
