Ray O'Neal McGlothen, 84, of Port Neches, Texas died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, Texas. Ray was born March 29, 1925 in Lamar County, Texas to Allen McGlothen and Mandy Finley McGlothen. He was a 50 year resident of the Mid County Area and a retired Mechanic in the Machinist Department at Texaco. He was a member of First Baptist Church Port Neches and was ordained as a Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church Nederland and was also a Deacon at Lakewood Baptist Church Zavalla and First Baptist Church Bronson. He served in the US Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with Rev. T.C. Hebert officiating and Rev. Corbett Thompson assisting. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 until time of service at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Yva McGlothen of Port Neches, Texas; daughters, Cynthia Reavis and husband, Gary of Nederland, Texas, Karen Day and husband, J. Ross of Lumberton, Texas, Becky Thompson and husband, Larry of Port Neches, Texas; son, Jody McGlothen and wife, Sheila of Waxahachie , Texas; grandchildren, Brent Day, Brian Day, Tiffany McKinley, Kevin Reavis, Katy Reavis, Corbett Thompson, Caleb Thompson, Laura McGlothen, Leah Carlton, and Andrew McGlothen, 7 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brent Day, Brian Day, Corbett Thompson, Caleb Thompson, Kevin Reavis, and Andrew McGlothen. Memorial contributions may be made to Lakewood Baptist Church 3497 State Hwy 147 Zavalla, Texas 75980.
