R.D. Cline, 88 of Port Arthur, Texas died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Cypress Glen East Nursing Home. Mr. Cline was born December 24, 1921 in Harmon County, Oklahoma to Ransom Henry Cline and Mary Winifred Kite Cline. He was a resident of Port Arthur for 15 years and member of the Wesley Class of The United Methodist Temple. He was a retired self employed mechanic and also worked as a carpenter, REA lineman and for the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was past President of Texline, Texas Lion's Club and past Deputy District Governor of Lion's District 2-T1. A visitation for family and friends will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at The United Methodist Temple and will be followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Additional funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Texline with burial to follow at Texline Cemetery in Texline, Texas under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas. Mr. Cline was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Annette Evans Cline and sister, Mary Lee Cleveland. Survivors include his daughter, Nancy Etheredge and husband, George of El Paso, TX; sons, Ray Cline and wife, Janet of Port Arthur, TX, Dean Cline and wife, Joann of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Joey Etheredge, IV, Troy Etheredge, Kay Etheredge, Roger Cline, Marty Cline, Greg Cline and Deanna Cline; and four great-grandchildren.
