Phyllis Audrey Odom, a beloved soul who graced this world with her laughter and presence, peacefully passed away at her home in Groves, Texas. She was born on November 20, 1939, in Port Arthur Texas to Audrey G Hildebrandt and Howard Guize.

Phyllis had a remarkable career as a Legal Secretary for 25 plus years at Port Arthur Abstract and Stewart Title showcasing her dedication and talents for her work. She loved the people she worked with and considered them her closest friends and family.

She was a devoted mother and friend. She spent many years leading the Blue Birds group with wonderful neighborhood friends and supporting her son at baseball, Cub Scouts, and wind surfing. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Port Neches and belonged to the Promises/New Beginnings Ladies group which gave her the ability to serve others. She enjoyed her 50’s music, Elvis, and Conway Twitty, as well as participating in the Mardi Gras crews with the Chamber of Commerce.

She will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who knew her best for her and Max’s crazy pranks, her need for her Coke and Milky Way Candy bars (daily) and her love for her family gatherings. She hosted many years of Christmas Eve and Easter meals and family gatherings. She enjoyed taking road trips, having picnics with the family and camping. These activities created many hilarious and lasting memories for all her family and friends.

Phyllis found true happiness in the company of family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy cherished by many. Phyllis is survived by her loving daughter Rhonda Smith and husband Frank of Groves, Tx; devoted son Steven Odom of Lockhart, Tx; adored grandchildren Stephanie Andrews, Michael Smith, Courtney Celusta and husband Dalton, and Max “Camp” Odom: as well as treasured great-grandchildren Devin Andrews, Evangeline “Evie” Andrews, Jaxon Andrews, and Edward Andrews IV.
