Murphy Broussard, born on May 18, 1933, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, in Port Neches, Texas.
He was a member and Sunday School teacher at the 1st Baptist Church in Nederland, Texas.
Murphy dedicated 33 years of his professional life as a forklift driver and trainer at Texaco. Following his career at Texaco, he owned and operated "Colorizer Paint" store for 20 years. Outside of his work, Murphy found great joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time at the lake. He was also a devoted fan of Nederland football games.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vorice and Stella Broussard; his beloved wife of 68 years, Betty Jean Broussard; his sister, Hazel Guidry; and his brother, Freddie Broussard.
Murphy is survived by his loving sons, Brad Broussard and his wife Shala of Nederland, Texas, and Darrell Broussard and his wife Karolyn of Nederland, Texas. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Jessica Johnston and her husband Jack, Dustin Callahan, and Kristine Gunn and her husband Kelly. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Hagen Bearden, Hudson Bearden, Addisen Bearden, Jett Johnston, Brooks Johnston, Mia Johnston, and Evan Callahan.
There will be a private family memorial at a later date.
