     Michael Ray Roy, 74, of Port Neches, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born in Orange, Texas on September 14, 1949 to the late, Lennis Pierre Roy and Mary Dorothy Boughton.
     Michael served his country proudly, in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing and spending time at the beach. He loved to barbecue outside while drinking a cold beer listening to good music and he was known for his outstanding barbecue chicken. Michael was a dedicated member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3743 in Port Neches, Texas.
     Those left to cherish Michael's memory are his loving wife, Barbara Roy of Port Neches, Texas; his daughter, Kelly Gerlach of Orange, Texas; his brother, Dwayne Roy of Port Arthur, Texas; and his three grandchildren, Sydney Burrows, Reagan Alston and Madelyn Gerlach.
     Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Lennis Pierre Roy and Mary Dorothy Boughton; his son, Martin Alston; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Alston and his grandson, Colton Alston.
     In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Michael's honor to the AERIE #3743 Scholarship Fund, 2313 Nederland Avenue, Port Neches, Texas, 77651. 
     A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon~Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service to begin at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Lance Faulkner, Officiant.
