Merty Lee Hudson Miller, 73, 0f Nederland, Texas passed away January 16, 2013 at Cypress Glen Nursing Home in Port Arthur, Texas.Mery was born September 1, 1939 in Vinton, Louisiana to the late William and Genieve Reed Hudson. She graduated in 1957 from Nederland High School and attended Lamar and was a lifelong resident of Nederland. Merty owned her own electrolysis business, worked at Lubys Cafeteria in Central Mall, and retired from Park Place Hospital in Port Arthur as an EKG Technician.Merty was preceded in death by her parents and her 2 brothers, William Billy and Charles W. Bucky Hudson. She is survived by her son, Fred Miller Jr. of Linn Valley, Kansas her daughter, Terri Miller of Tomball, Texas her grandchildren, Benjamin, Mary, and Jonathan Miller, Marty and Myles Miller her sister, Janette Broussard and husband, Lessie James Pop nieces, Kerri Babineaux, Vickie Catalina, and Jamie Packman and husband, Ronnie and great niece and nephew, Payden and Paxton Packman.The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Cypress Glen as well as Odyssey Home Health for their love and care of Merty.The family is requesting memorials be given to the Humane Society of Southeast Texas, 2050 Spindletop Rd., Beaumont, Texas 77705.
