Meagan "MeaMea" Martin passed on March 6, 2026, in Buna, Texas, at the age of 35. Born on September 3, 1990, in Port Arthur, Texas, Meagan was a respiratory therapist at Baptist Hospital, where she had eight years of service and was not only recognized for her professional skills but also for her unwavering compassion for others.
Throughout her career, Meagan was nominated multiple times for the prestigious Baptist Way Award, a testament to her commitment and the positive impact she made in the lives of her patients and colleagues. Her strong and uplifting spirit was evident in every aspect of her life, reflecting her belief in the power of love and support. Loved by many, she was known for her ever-present smile and her relentless ability to lift others up, bringing joy to everyone around her.
Meagan cherished her role as a mother, always present and supportive for her children. She is survived by her beloved fiancé, Alfred Lopez of Groves; her mother, Belinda Martin of Nederland; her step-mother, Lisa Martin of Nederland; her son, Lee James of Groves; and her daughter, Serenity Marie Rivera, who went to heaven together with her mom. Additionally, she leaves behind her grandmother, Darlene Martin; her brothers, Thomas Swafford of Nederland and Brent Guidry; sisters, Monica Martin of Groves and Keisha Guidry Nederland; and her very best friend, Stephanie Shaw Martin of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She is also survived by her Nanny, Tricia Silva, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In her spare time, Meagan enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending moments with family and friends, activities that reflected her love for nature and connection with the ones she held dear.
Meagan is preceded in death by her father, Randall Lee Martin; her grandfather, Ira D. "Tator" Martin; her uncle, Charlie Silva; her aunt, Dana Martin; and her grandmother, Melba Harrison.
As we remember Meagan "MeaMea" Martin, we honor a life filled with kindness, dedication, an immense capacity to love, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to live in the hearts of those she touched.
Meagan's incredible life will be celebrated during a memorial service in her honor, to be announced at a later date.
