Mary Johnson born in Bentonville, AK to the late Cecil and Addie Carter and has lived in the Port Acres area for the last 55 years. She retired as a lab technician at American Petro Fina in Port Arthur. She was a volunteer at the Museum of the Gulf Coast.Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the First Christian Church in Port Arthur with interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland, Rev. Scott Wallace officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26th at Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland.Mary is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Bobbie Young. She is survived by her 3 sons, James Johnson and wife Vicki of Port Acres, Robert Johnson and wife Lorelei of Port Neches, and Richard Johnson and wife Kennie of Fannett 2 sisters, Flo Edgerly and husband Gene of Bridge City and Betty Frank and husband Marvin of Tiki Island brother Leon Carter and wife Billie of Orangefield 12 grandchildren and 8 greatgrandchildren.
