Port Neches, Texas.

Mary "Inez" (McBride, Drawhorn) Robbins, a beloved figure in the Port Neches community, passed away on January 27, 2024, in Beaumont, Texas. She was born on August 18, 1933, in Port Neches, Texas. Inez had fond memories of growing up “in the Groves” and was proud that her dad was instrumental in planting the beautiful pecan groves. She was the youngest of seven children and she loved her siblings dearly.  In her later years, Inez enjoyed reminiscing about her fun as cheerleader and homecoming queen.

Inez graduated from Port Neches High School in 1950 and attended Lamar University before marrying C.W. Drawhorn and starting a family. She was a family-oriented woman who dedicated her life to spreading love and joy to those around her. She had a passion for writing poetry and would often create heartfelt poems about God to give to others as tokens of her affection. Her green thumb was well-known among her friends and family, as she deeply enjoyed spending time tending to her plants.

Inez married James Robbins in 1998. Together, Inez and James spent many happy Christmas and Thanksgiving holidays in their lovely home surrounded by children and grandchildren. These were the happiest times of her life.  In later years, dining out at various restaurants with her children and grandchildren was something she really looked forward to. Mexican food and seafood were her favorites!

Inez's memory will forever be cherished by her surviving family members and close friends. She is survived by her loving daughters, Nan Laing and her husband, Randy of Beaumont, Texas, Vickie Giblin and husband, Robert of Port Neches, Texas, Carolyn Wiedenfeld Cronemiller and husband, Lynn of Seabrook, Texas, her faithful son, Paul Drawhorn and his wife, Cindy of Groves, Texas; sisters, Katherine Howard of Shreveport, Louisiana and Nellie Dill of Gonzales, Texas; grandchildren, Aaron Drawhorn of Lumberton, Texas, Ryan Drawhorn and his wife, Freya of Port Arthur, Texas, Eric Laing and his wife, Jaime of Port Neches, Texas, Leah Laing Barnes and her husband, Drew of Beaumont, Texas, Jacqueline Reeves and her husband, Bradley of Austin, Texas, Madeline Giblin Ogden and her husband, Samuel of Austin, Texas, Brittanie Drawhorn Alcalde and her husband, Manuel of North Hollywood, California, Lindie Looper and her husband, John of Stuttgart, Arkansas, Dr. Logan Wiedenfeld and his wife, Amy of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Roman Wiedenfeld of Lubbock, Texas, Ben Wiedenfeld and his wife, Natalia of League City, Texas, and Miranda Wiedenfeld of Seabrook, Texas; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
