Mark Owings Pool, 54, of Burkeville, Texas and formerly of Port Arthur died Thursday, February 11, 2010 at his residence. Mark was born September 15, 1955 in Port Arthur, Texas to Edgar Howard Pool and Carmen Brinson Pool. He was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur before movings to Burkeville 5 years ago. He was a retired merchant marine having been employed by Moran Towing. A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 15, 2010 at Val Verde Baptist Church in Groves with Reverend Rick Koonce officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas. Survivors include his five sisters, Carolyn Riley of Groves, TX, Margaret McElroy of Port Arthur, TX, Pat Pool and husband, Alan of Groves, TX, Cindy Royer and husband, Don of Fannett, Tx, Diane Presley and husband, Larry of DeRidder, LA; two brothers, Alan Pool and wife, Patricia of Groves, TX, Rodney Roberts and wife, Brenda of Nederland, TX; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Suzi.
