Maria Isabel Bermudez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas. Born on January 8, 1958, in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Maria dedicated her life to her family and community, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As a devoted homemaker, Maria took immense pride in her role, effortlessly blending hard work with love and care for her family. She was a remarkable cook, often inviting friends and family to gather around her table, where her culinary creations reflected not only her skill but also her deep affection for those she cherished. A faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur, Maria found joy in helping others and making everyone feel treasured and welcome.
Maria's kindness and warmth resonated with everyone she encountered. Her personality shone brightly, and her love for life could be seen in her simple pleasures—enjoying her coffee and coke, which often accompanied her laughter and stories shared with loved ones.
She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Raymundo Bermudez of Port Arthur; her mother, Victoria Gonzalez of Port Arthur; and her children, Liliano Delfierro, Jorge A. Delfierro, Mayra Taylor, Cynthia Garnica, Elizabeth Bermudez, and Raymundo Bermudez, Jr. Additionally, Maria was a proud grandmother to twenty grandchildren and a great-grandmother to thirty-six great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by four sisters, four brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Maria is preceded in death by her father, Carmelo Moreno; her grandson, Gerald Taylor, III; and her brothers, Marcelino Moreno and Jose Arthuro Moreno. Though she will be profoundly missed, her legacy of love and hard work will endure through her family and friends.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas, where visitation will be held on January 2, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A rosary will be recited at 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 5:30 PM.
