It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Lynn Earl Norris (Poppy), who departed this life on June 24, 2025, at the age of 69, surrounded by family and love.
Lynn was born on October 25, 1955 in Port Arthur, Texas, to Jerry and Betty Norris. He lived a life full of love; love of the outdoors, love for his family, and good ol’ Westerns. He left a lasting impression on all who knew him, just ask anyone who he shared a story with.
He is survived by wife, Dana Potts Norris of 45 years, Mother, Betty, and his “brother” Randy Holm (Melony), his oldest son Cory (Heather) and youngest son, Cody (Misty), as well as grandchildren Mara (Jack), Emma, Zach (Chasten), and Alisa (Eric) and great grandchildren Greyson, and Elaina.
He was preceded by his father, Jerry “Red” Norris, who greeted him with open arms and a fishing rod next to the gator hole in heaven.
Lynn was known for his hard work, his dedication to his family, and his love of all things guns. He found joy in reloading, hunting, and spending time with his animals. He always had a smile, a joke, or a sarcastic comment to offer.
Family and friends are invited to commemorate Lynn’s life during visitation on June 28th, from 10 am to 11 am, followed by an 11 am funeral service at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 2001 Nall St, Port Neches, Texas. An Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church or the Humane Society of SETX, a cause close to his heart.
