Lorraine Frioux Fletcher

July 7, 1946 — March 17, 2026

Beaumont, Texas

Lorraine Ann Frioux Fletcher, age 79, passed away on March 17, 2026, and went home to be with the Lord, where God had prepared a place for her. She was surrounded by the love of her family and the grace of her Lord & Savior. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was marked by compassion, faith, and unwavering dedication to those she loved.

Lorraine was born on July 7, 1946, in Port Arthur, Texas to Rivers Aurilien Frioux and Nora Ann Benoit Frioux. She leaves behind her cherished daughters, Deanna Wilson and her husband, Andrew, Angie Smith and her husband, Brock. Along with her only grandson, Garrett Smith, who held a uniquely special place in her heart—she often said he “hung the moon,” and she would move heaven and earth for him. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra Borel of Nederland, Texas, her niece, Donna Byars and husband Mark of Nederland, Texas along with nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Lorraine began her career as a Librarian Aide for Kountze ISD and retired from Dillard’s Dept. Store as a Cosmetic Sales Associate after many years of service, where she was known for her kindness and work ethic. Outside of work, she found great joy tending to her flower beds and creating beauty with her hands. She also had a deep love for food and adventure, often planning vacations around memorable places to eat.

Family was at the center of Lorraine’s life. She treasured gatherings, especially during the holidays, and cherished family dinners every Monday night with her daughters, sons-in-law, and grandson—moments that became a beloved tradition.

Lorraine had a servant’s heart and a rare gift for nurturing others, especially in their times of greatest need. She took great pride in caring for her father in his final days, honoring the example of his strong Christian faith. She later devoted herself to caring for her brother, Rodney during his final days as well. Providing comfort and love to those at the end of life was not just something she did—it was her calling.

Lorraine’s Catholic faith guided her life and her actions. She lived out her beliefs through her generosity, compassion, and deep love for others. She also embraced her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children, extending her warmth and care to all.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Rivers Frioux and Nora. Her brother, Rodney Frioux, niece, Michelle Borel Forrest and nephew, Mark Borel. Their influence, guidance and love shaped the woman Lorraine became, and their spirits are mourned alongside her.

The family invites all who knew and loved Lorraine to gather for visitation on March 26, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on March 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at St. James Catholic Church, located at 3617 Gulfway Drive, Port Arthur, Texas.

Lorraine will be remembered for her loving spirit, her selflessness, and the way she made everyone feel cared for and valued. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the countless lives she touched.

Her presence in this world was a blessing, and although we will miss her deeply, we are forever grateful for the love we shared. We will love you forever!
