Lorena Marie Strange, a beloved figure in the community, passed away on October 31, 2025, in Natalia, Texas. Born on July 28, 1941, in Port Neches, Texas, she lived a life filled with love, family, and a deep commitment to her family. Lorena made her mark as the Head Teller at Bridge City State Bank, where she was known not only for her professionalism but also for her warm spirit. Her colleagues often described her as a loving friend and coworker, a testament to her ability to brighten the lives of those around her.
Above all else, Lorena cherished her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, William Strange Jr., alongside their son, Carlton Strange and his wife, Patricia. Her daughters, Tammy Abshire and her husband, Milton, and Darla Ross and her husband, Kyle, carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Lorena's grandchildren were her pride and joy: Sarah Morris and her husband, John; Kyle Ross Jr. and his wife, Precious; Blake Ross and his wife, Sudathip Ning; Shalyn Rood and her husband, Josiah; Katy Anita Aguilar and her husband, Christopher; and LeeAnn Taylor. Her heart swelled with love for her great-grandchildren: Jadyn, Kaylee, Kinslee, Kylee, Madeline, Charlie, Josiah, Bryson, William, Samuel, Klaire, Malachi, Joanna, Frankie, Caspian, Cooper, Kyle, and Baby J.
Lorena was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Hazel Hebert; her brother, Wallace Hebert; and her sister, Margie Frederick. The memories of her nurturing presence will forever remain etched in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on November 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary at 6:30 PM, both located at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 2001 Nall St, Port Neches, Texas 77651. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on November 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2006 Nall Street, Port Neches, Texas 77651. Following the service, Lorena will be entombed at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
In this time of mourning, may we remember Lorena Marie Strange not only for her contributions in life but for the immense love she shared with her family and friends. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide her loved ones in the days to come.
