It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laurie Gunter, who departed this life on July 15, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas. Born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1949, in Port Arthur, Texas, Laurie brought warmth and light into the world from the very beginning. Her gentle spirit and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Laurie found immense joy and fulfillment in her passions for crafts and gardening. Her hands were always busy creating beautiful things, and her garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit, blooming with life and color. These hobbies were not just pastimes but reflections of her creative soul and her love for bringing beauty into the world around her.

Laurie's legacy lives on through her beloved family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Wayne Gunter of Nederland. She leaves behind her son, Paul Gunter, and his wife, Alesha, of Spring; and her daughter, Laura Gunter, and her husband, Roger Monarch, Jr. Her memory will be cherished by her grandchildren, Keyton Porras and his wife, Alicia, Skyler Porras and his fiancé, Becca Bartels, Dryden Porras and his wife, Kassie Coffee, Abby Gunter, Mariah, Bryleigh, and Stephen. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Adrian, Mace, Nora, Vivian, Kimber, and Sloan. Laurie is also survived by her brother, Ronnie Conner and his wife, Carol of Buna, and her sisters, Yvette Miller and her husband, Lane of Buna, and Barbara Sherry and her husband, Brad of Groves.

Laurie was preceded in death by her loving parents, Elray and Mary Conner; her cherished granddaughter, Katelyn Porras; her brother, Robert Conner; and her sister, Gloria Bean. Though she has left this earthly realm, the love, kindness, and beautiful memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

Laurie's life will be celebrated with a visitation on Sunday, July 26, 2026 beginning at 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas.
