Judy Badon, a beloved matriarch with a creative spirit and a love for nature, has passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, in Nederland, Texas, at the age of 82. She was born on July 15, 1943, in Port Arthur, Texas, bringing joy to her family and friends throughout her life.
A woman of exceptional creativity, Judy first showcased her talents at a tender age, mastering the art of sewing by nine years old, able to craft an entire woman's dress all on her own. Her artistic spirit manifested in many forms, particularly through her love of gardening and decorating, where she nurtured not only plants but also the hearts of those around her. Her extraordinary "green thumb" turned her garden into a sanctuary that reflected her vibrant personality, enveloping family and friends in a serene atmosphere filled with beauty.
Following in the footsteps of her mother and father, Judy embraced the Church of Christ faith, which shaped her nurturing spirit and allowed her to touch many lives. Her faith instilled in her the values of love, kindness, and devotion - gifts she shared gracefully and generously with her family.
In addition to her artistic abilities, Judy took great pride in her children and grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to flourish with love, dignity, and grace. She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Tommy Badon, and their loving children: daughter Kim Hubbard, married to Matt, and son Steve Badon, married to Holly. Her legacy further extends to her grandchildren, Blake Hubbard and his fiancée, Jeanette, Mitchel Hubbard and his wife, Enith, Caroline Barnett and her husband, Luke, and Burke Badon and his wife, Keni. Judy is also survived by her brother, James Emmons, and his wife, Tanya.
Judy Badon will be honored through a visitation on October 4, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas, 77627. Interment will follow the service at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
