Joyce and George Romero

May 1, 1932 — September 11, 2023

Once upon a time, Joyce Peltier and George Romero met at a dance. They were married on October 7, 1950, and were inseparable from then on. Those that knew them loved them. Their love for each other was extraordinary. They were devout Catholics and would take to their knees every night to say their prayers. Both of their hobbies included being faithful Catholics saying their prayers daily and reciting the Rosary, gardening, canning vegetables, dancing and playing booray. Joyce especially loved cooking for her family and pulling weeds in the yard. George especially loved riding his lawnmower and drinking vitamins. Joyce retired from working in the cafeteria at Ridgewood Elementary in Port Neches. George retired from working all his life as a boilermaker at Gulfport Shipyard and Vessel Repair.

Joyce was born on May 1, 1932, to Edgar Peltier and Emerite Louvier in St. Martinville Parish, Louisiana. Joyce peacefully passed away on September 7, 2023, surrounded by family. George was born on July 14, 1929, to Clerphy Romero and Corinne Romero in Iberia Parish, Louisiana. George peacefully passed away on September 11, 2023. George had to wait four days for Joyce to make their place in heaven where they will continue their love story and spend eternal life.
