Joree Storms, born on November 2, 1933, in Stephenville, Texas, peacefully departed this earth on June 14, 2025, in Nederland, Texas. A cherished homemaker, Joree dedicated her life to nurturing her family and creating a warm, loving home.

Throughout her life, Joree was known for her passion for cooking and her enjoyment of gardening, finding joy in both providing delicious meals and cultivating beautiful plants. Her love for cooking shows inspired many in the family to embrace their culinary skills, passing on her legacy of warmth and sustenance.

Joree was a beloved mother to her daughters, Roxanne Lenahan and her husband Patrick of Sisters, Oregon, Melanie Vernon and her husband Joe of Nederland, Texas and her sons, Patrick Storms and his wife Eva of Temple, Texas, and Glen Storms and his wife Debbie of Baytown, Texas. She is also survived by her only sister, Anita Nugent of Glorietta, New Mexico.

As a proud grandmother, Joree delighted in her grandchildren, including Tara Davis and her husband Josh, Adam Clark, Michelle Downey and her husband James, Brooke Vernon and her partner Johnny, April Vernon, Bill Storms and his wife Rachael, Laura Leidig and her husband David, Angie Cruise and her husband Willie, Stephanie Miller and her partner Mathew Dozier and Donald Burroughs. She was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren and great, great grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. Additionally, Joree held a fond affection for her nieces and nephews, nurturing those relationships throughout her life. She held special affection for her church family, “The Leftovers” with whom she shared countless hours of food, fun, affection, and laughter. Special thanks to her wonderful caregivers and her hospice staff for the love and care they provided.

She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, William Storms, with whom she shared fifty-seven wonderful years of marriage, and her son, Joseph William Storms. The family also mourns the loss of beloved grandson Andrew Storms and dear grandson Jacob Vernon, cherishing each precious memory shared during their time together. Also awaiting her arrival in heaven is her dear friend Gloria “Tutter” Vernon.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Joree's life and legacy. Visitation will take place on June 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches, Texas, located at 2001 Nall Street. Following the visitation, a Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, located at 2006 Nall Street in Port Neches, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

Joree Storms will be remembered not only for her unwavering devotion to her family but also for the countless lives she touched with her kindness, warmth, and love. Her feisty spirit will remain a guiding force, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
