John L Henning, III, known to all who loved him as Johnny, pasted away peacefully on December 26, 2025, at the age of 83. Johnny was born on May 6, 1942, in Roanoke, VA.
From his humbling beginnings growing up in Austin, Texas, to his secondary and high school years in Port Arthur, Texas, Johnny graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1960, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Photography from Sam Houston State University. His hobbies were collecting 1950's comic books, building and flying model air planes, and restoring 1940's Harley Davidson and Indian Chief motorcycles.
Johnny joined the US Army Officers Training Service during the Viet Nam war. Afterwards, he began his career as a fire fighter in Tacoma, WA, and later as a fire inspector and reserve police officer in Irving, Texas. He later joined Analysis Investigation Determination, Inc. in Dallas, Tx. as a fire investigator. Johnny went on to establish Forensic Analysis & Consulting Service, retiring in 1996 as a Texas licensed PI and arson investigator.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents John L. Henning, Jr and Jean M. Henning. He is survived by his brother Haden V. Henning. Johnny will be interred at the Henning Family Cemetery in Sulphur, Louisiana.
