Jennie Beebe
September 1, 1943 – March 29, 2026
Jennie Beebe, 82, of Groves, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, leaving behind a family who adored her, a lifetime of memories, and more funny sayings than we could ever possibly fit into one obituary.
Born on September 1, 1943, in Beaumont, Texas, Jennie was truly one of a kind. She was strong-willed, funny, faithful, and unforgettable. She had a way of making people feel at home, whether she was fussing at you, praying for you, or making you laugh so hard you forgot what you were upset about in the first place.
Jennie worked for many years as an optician with TSO, where she took great pride in helping people and caring for others. She was good at what she did, but if you knew Jennie, you know her real life’s work was loving her family, checking on everybody, and making sure no one left unnoticed, or without hearing exactly what was on her mind.
And she usually had something to say.
She was the kind of mama and grandmother who gave love freely, worried deeply, laughed often, and could turn even an ordinary day into a memory. She had her own way of saying things, her own way of doing things, and honestly, most of the time, it was just better to let Jennie be Jennie.
She gave us sayings we’ll laugh about forever, stories we’ll tell over and over, and a kind of love that stays with you long after someone is gone. Whether she was saying “I’m not going backwards,” mixing up a word in the most lovable way possible, or reminding us that “Jesus and cannolis makes everything better,” Jennie had a way of making life lighter, funnier, and fuller.
She loved her family fiercely and completely.
Jennie is survived by her son, Sammy Beebe and wife, Michelle, of Port Neches; her daughters, Tanya Beebe Crawford and husband, Joey, of Fannett, and Tracie Beebe of Port Neches.
She also leaves behind the grandchildren she loved so dearly: Mark Beebe, Katie Beebe, Faith Crawford, Isaiah “Izzy-man” Crawford, Alexis Wehmeyer and husband, Brett, Paityn Westbrook, and Cole Robinson and wife, Makenzie.
Her love carries on through her precious great-grandchildren, Ridge Wright, Royce “Little Bit” Wehmeyer, and Beckham Robinson.
Jennie is also survived by her sister, Josephine “Josie” Costa and husband, Sal, of Beaumont.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam P. and Dora Fertitta, and her brothers, Vincent and Sam Joseph Fertitta.
There is no way to sum up Jennie in a few paragraphs, because she was bigger than that. She was burning food in the kitchen, giving opinions in the living room, prayers when you needed them most, and love in every form. She was comfort, comedy, stubbornness, sweetness, and home.
And if we’re being honest… heaven better be ready!
A Rosary for Jennie will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 2001 Nall Street, Port Neches, Texas, with visitation to follow until 11:45 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2006 Nall Street, Port Neches, Texas.
A graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont, Texas.
In true Jennie fashion, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, balloon bouquets be brought in her honor, because she loved the happiness balloons bring. Family and friends are also encouraged to wear their brightest, happiest attire, because black just wouldn’t feel like her.
We will miss her every day, laugh about her forever, and love her always.
“Yeah buddy”
