Jeanette F. Bird, a beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, at the age of 74 in Beaumont, Texas. Born on October 16, 1951, in Port Arthur, Texas. She dedicated her life to nurturing her family and enriching the lives of those around her.

As a devoted homemaker, Jeanette was known for her exceptional cooking skills that created memorable meals, drawing family and friends together in warmth and laughter. Her talent in the kitchen was well-recognized, fostering an environment where everyone felt loved and included, making her home a haven of cherished memories. Her passion for life and love spilled over into her role as a major influence in the ‘Mother’s Day Out’ program, where she extended her nurturing spirit to many children, treating each one as if they were part of her own family.

In addition to her culinary talents, Jeanette had a dazzling personality that captivated all who knew her. She took immense joy in shopping and was especially fond of spending time with her beloved grandchildren: Katie Lormand and her husband, Cameron, Karlee Gillard, and Landon Kellar. The arrival of her great-grandchild, Callahan Lormand, further enriched her life and brought her immense joy.

Jeanette is survived by her loving husband, Donald Bird, who resides in Port Neches; her two devoted daughters, Joanna Kellar and her husband, Lawrence, also of Port Neches, and Jennifer Gillard of Nederland; her beloved grandchildren: Katie Lormand and her husband, Cameron, Karlee Gillard, and Landon Kellar, and her great-grandchild, Callahan Lormand, a cherished sisters, Johnnie Faye Davidson and her husband, Ricky, of LaBelle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rosetta Glorioso; her son, Donald Bird, Jr.; and her sister, Roseann Dixon.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, located at 2001 Nall St., Port Neches, Texas 77651. Visitation will be held on December 4, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.

As we celebrate the life of Jeanette F. Bird, we remember her for her unwavering love, compassion, and the countless ways she brought joy into the world. She will be profoundly missed and remembered fondly by all whose lives she touched.

The family would like to extend our thanks and gratitude and love to the wonderful staff at Mid Jefferson extended care hospital in Beaumont and also to Harbor home health. These entities were so very kind and nurturing in giving our mother excellent care and were so very kind and compassionate with her. They were also very kind and loving with our family and helped us navigate through this time.
