Jim Anderson, a devoted mariner and beloved family member, passed away on November 23, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on March 9, 1949, Jim dedicated an incredible 50 years of his life to serving the maritime industry, starting his journey as a Third Officer with the S. I. U. and later continuing with the A. M. O. (American Maritime Officers). His unwavering commitment to his profession garnered him respect and admiration from colleagues and peers alike.

Among his passions, Jim had an insatiable love for travel, which allowed him to explore new cultures and forge connections across the world. He delighted in trying local cuisines, always eager to expand his palate with the flavors of different lands. Those fortunate enough to share a meal with him were often regaled with stories from his voyages, filled with laughter and warmth. In addition to his travels, Jim found joy in playing darts, a pastime that brought him together with friends and family in good-natured competition.

Jim is remembered fondly by his family, who will cherish his memory forever. He is survived by his daughter, Amie Anderson of Kirkwood, Missouri; and his siblings, Rick Anderson and his wife, Lisa Anderson; Sharon Reynolds and her husband, Jerome Reynolds; David Shutika and his wife, Robin Shutika; and George Shutika. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Betty Shutika and Charles Anderson and his brother, Don Anderson.
