Jaime A. Fontanoza

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Jaime Fontanoza, who departed this life in Port Arthur, Texas. Born on February 24, 1960, Jaime lived a life defined by devotion, service, and the joy he brought to those around him. Jaime is a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Army before building a respected career as a Petroleum Inspector with several Inspection company in Texas. Beyond his work, Jaime found great happiness in life’s simple blessings—spending time fishing, caring for his garden, and preparing delicious meals to share with family and friends.

At the center of Jaime’s life was his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 20 years, Maritess Fontanoza of Port Neches, Texas, who shared in his love, laughter, and the many memories they built together. He remained a devoted son to his father, Jesus Fontanoza of the Philippines, and carried that same devotion into the way he loved and cared for his own children: Jaime Fontanoza of Torrance, California; Charles Fontanoza and his wife, Jeannette, of San Diego, California; Jordan Magallanes and his wife, Vanessa, of Beaumont, Texas; Paul Fontanoza of Sour Lake, Texas; Monica Fontanoza and her wife, Britney, of Kittery, Maine; and Sofia Fontanoza of Sour Lake, Texas. Jaime’s grandchildren—Caiden Fontanoza, Caleb Fontanoza, Serafina Fontanoza, Jacob Fontanoza, Joshua Fontanoza, Mila Fontanoza, Ava Fontanoza, Atlas Fontanoza, Venice Magallanes, and Jordan Magallanes—were among the greatest joys of his life, and he treasured the smiles, hugs, and special moments he shared with each of them. He will also be lovingly remembered by his brothers, Armenio Fontanoza of San Diego; Rolando Fontanoza and his wife, Jan, of Sour Lake; Marshall Fontanoza and his wife, Rowena, of Los Angeles; and Rex Fontanoza and his wife, Pennie, of Nederland; and by his sisters, Minda Dowies and her husband, Jeff, of Houston, and Susan Clark and her husband, Miles, of Preston. To his family, Jaime was a steady presence, a source of comfort, and a man whose love was felt in both big moments and everyday acts of care. The memories they shared with him will remain a lasting blessing and a reflection of the beautiful life he lived.

Jaime’s love for his nieces and nephews knew no bounds. He treasured every moment spent with them and took great joy in being a part of their lives. Some of his happiest memories were made on fishing trips, where he patiently shared his love of the water, taught lessons that went far beyond fishing, and created moments filled with laughter, stories, and connection. To his nieces and nephews, Uncle Jaime was more than family. He was a source of love, guidance, and unwavering support. The memories they shared and the love he so freely gave will remain in their hearts forever, a lasting reminder of the remarkable man they were blessed to know and love.

Jaime was preceded in death by his mother, Remedios Fontanoza.

Family and Friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 2001 Nall Street, Port Neches, Texas.

Family viewing is from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

Public viewing is from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Service to celebrate Jaime's life at 11:00 AM.
