Jack E. Sparks, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026, in Port Neches, Texas, at the age of 87. He was born on December 13, 1938, in Robeline, Louisiana. Jack was a retired Electrical Engineering Supervisor at DuPont.

Jack lived a strong Christian life filled with love and devotion to his family, to God, and the church. Family was at the heart of his life, and he took every opportunity to love, care, support, and encourage them. He attended church and served faithfully in many capacities, and delighted in seeing others grow in their Christian faith.

Jack had a passion for sports and unwavering support for his community. He was a devoted fan, spending countless hours watching sports and cheering on his favorite teams. His dedication to the Port Neches-Groves sports programs, being a graduate and participant himself, was legendary. He could often be found in the stands, enthusiastically supporting the local athletes of every sport. Jack also was a good and avid golfer in his earlier adult years, finding joy on the greens.

He is survived by his sister, Betty Simon, and her husband, RJ, as well as his loving daughter, Joni Sparks Stevenson, and her husband, Chas. Jack also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Reid Reynolds and Mauri Reynolds Chatham, and her husband, Kelvin, as well as his great-grandchild, Creed Chatham. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda Sparks, his daughter, Tracey Sparks, his father, Jack T. Sparks, his mother, Geraldine Marie Sibley Stephens, and his sister, Elaine Sorbet.

A service to celebrate Jack's life will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Tranquility Mausoleum at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas. Jack will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and the community he so passionately supported.
