Ima Jean Fox, a beloved member of the community and cherished organist and pianist, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, in Groves, Texas, at the age of 90. Born on August 6, 1935, in Port Arthur, Texas, Ima Jean lived a life profoundly devoted to her family, her faith, and her love of music.

A proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in 1953, Ima Jean was known for her musical talents, having dedicated many years to serving as an organist and pianist for her church and local funeral homes. Her melodies were a source of comfort and joy to countless individuals during pivotal moments in their lives. A long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church of Port Acres, she held her faith dear and instilled the values of love, compassion, and forgiveness in all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Ima Jean's life revolved around Church, family, music, and her deep affection for learning and sharing recipes.  Ima Jean encouraged her family to find time everyday to read God's word (The Bible) and memorize scriptures and spend time with God. She was a talented cook who enjoyed creating new dishes and gathering loved ones around the table. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored with every fiber of her being. She derived immense joy from watching her great-grandchildren, Beau and Bryley Burnett, and took great pride in their accomplishments.

Her unwavering positivity and grace resonated with all who crossed her path. Never one to speak ill of anyone, Ima Jean was regarded as the sweetest person one could ever meet, leaving a lasting impact on her family, friends, and community.

Ima Jean is survived by her loving daughter, Stacy Jean Rogers and her husband, Keith, of Lumberton, Texas; her son, Clint C. Fox and his wife, Pam, of Arlington, Texas; her grandchildren, Shannon Burnett and her husband, Bryce, Jared Rogers and his wife, Hannah, and Jason Kaiser; and her great-grandchildren, Beau Burnett and Bryley Burnett. She joins her beloved parents, Stephen Russell Rascoe and Annie Mae Rascoe; her husband, Joseph Thomas Fox; and her son, Juddie Thomas Fox, who have all passed before her.

A visitation will be held on October 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 5601 39th St, Groves, Texas 77619.   A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on October 10, 2025, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland, Texas.  Ima Jean Fox will be remembered not only for her beautiful music but also for the love she so freely shared with everyone around her. Her legacy of kindness, family devotion, and musical passion will continue to inspire all who knew her.
