Ignace G. Trahan passed away at home on January 29, 2026, in Port Neches, Texas at the age of 102. Born on December 2, 1923, in Maurice, Louisiana, he lived a long, full life marked by faith and family. Ignace proudly served in the United States Navy as a Seaman First Class from 1942 to 1945 during WW2. After his service, he worked for Gulf Oil Port Arthur Refinery as an operator for 39 1/2 years. As a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Ignace lived out his faith in quiet and caring ways. In younger years he treasured time spent fishing, camping and traveling with his family. He loved growing fresh vegetables and could often be found tending his garden. Being sharp with numbers, he liked to play a good card or domino game. Ignace loved staying active and especially enjoyed dancing at Larry's French Market in Groves. He enjoyed Cajun music and even sang in the local Cajun choir. He is survived by his son, Kelvin Trahan of Cathedral City, California; his son, Randy Trahan (Sheenna) of Lorena; and his daughter, Lisa Rodriquez (Robert) of Beaumont. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Ignace was preceded in death by his parents, Odeus and Estella Trahan; two loving wives, Mary Verna Trahan, 62 years, and Audrey Marie Trahan, 4 years; his grandson, Donovan Jones; his brother, Dudley Trahan; and sister, Verna Simon. Ignace will be remembered as a kind and thoughtful man, who was loved by family, friends and neighbors. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 2001 Nall Street in Port Neches on Friday, February 6, 2026. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Bruce Stinson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the local VFW, Catholic Charities or a charity of your choice.
