Hoyt E. Neal, 89, of Port Arthur, Texas died Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Cypress Glen East in Port Arthur. He was born in Megargel, Texas on December 11, 1920 to Orilla Hoyt Neal and Julia Ann Hughlett Neal. Hoyt had lived in Port Arthur for 74 years and was retired as a Vice President from Wells Fargo and Merchants Bank(now Capital One Bank). He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served as treasurer for 30 1/2 years. Hoyt, also served faithfully as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and Trustee. Currently, he is a member of First Baptist Church, Nederland. He was a member of Cosmopolitan Lodge #872 A.F. & A.M., Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce as an Ambassador, Board of Directors of Port Arthur Community Home, Account Executive for United Way of South Jefferson County, North Port Arthur Lion's Club where he served on the Board of Directors, was a past President and treasurer for 26 years, Board Member of Port Arthur Higher Education Foundation, and President of Lamar State College Alumni Association. Hoyt was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, serving during World War II. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend David Higgs of First Baptist Church, Nederland officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Sean Neal, Jeremy Neal, Ragan Neal, Grant Neal, Jeff Garmon, and Fred Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. W. Sam Monroe, Volney Pinder, Jack Verret, and Floyd Marceaux. Hoyt was preceded in death by his parents; Orilla Hoyt Neal and Julia Ann Neal, sisters; Foye Milford, Reva Johnson, and Lawanda Nifong, and brothers; Hudson Neal and Doyle Neal. He is survived by his wife; Ouida Mae Hilbun Neal of Port Arthur, three sons; Hoyt E. Neal, Jr. and wife, Karen of Dallas, David D. Neal and wife, Cynthia of Houston, and Thomas "Tom" G. Neal and wife, Linda of Groves, eight grandchildren; Sean Neal, Jeremy Neal, Alice Neal-Paakkonen, Sarah Neal, Laura Beth Garmon, Ragan Neal, Grant Neal, and Jennifer Long, four great grandchildren; Harper Neal, Paxton Hoyt Neal, Reagan Long, and Berkeley Long.
