Helen Rose Daily, 89, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas with her loving family at her side.
Helen was born on August 13, 1934, in Church Point, Louisiana to Leora Savoy Richard and Wilbur Richard. She was a retired switch board operator for the City of Port Arthur and attended St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches. Helen was a seamstress and collected anything that was in fashion or the “fad” at the time. She was a big admirer of Walt Disney and pretty much had all the DVD’s of all the movies they ever made. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren and her dogs, who she spoiled and they loved her for it. Helen’s main passion was dancing. She loved to go dancing anywhere, any place and at any time. Helen was known for her dancing skills and loved to show them off. She loved people and enjoyed meeting new acquaintances every day. She will be missed but not forgotten.
Survivors include her children, Kathy Stanton and her husband Mark of Nederland, Ramona “Mona” Johnson and her husband Dave of Nederland and Rick Tompkins and his wife Danielle of Mont Belvieu, Texas; grandchildren, Renee’ Bullion and her husband Bryan of Nederland and Corey Tompkins of Beaumont; Bella Tompkins of Mont Belvieu, David Tompkins of Mont Belvieu, great grandchildren, Zackary Bullion of Nederland, Clayton Tompkins of Nederland, and Anthony Tompkins of Arkansas; great-great grandchild, Isabella Guerrero of Port Arthur; her sister, Sharon Barnhill of Vidor; her God Children, Pam Dies and her husband David of Port Neches and Turina Young and her husband Steve of Vidor.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Leora Richard; her sister, Ethel Tatroe; her brother, Pat Richard; her great grandchild, Caitlyn Guerrero and finally, the love of her life, Peter L. Daily who passed away on April 4, 1992.
A Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2024, at Melancon-Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland with a visitation to follow at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches with Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Bryan Bullion, Randy Theriot, Steve Young, Josh Guest, Zackary Bullion and Dave Johnson.
