Gwenda Jean Simpson, 81, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Heart to Heart Inpatient Hospice with her loving family at her side.
Gwenda was born on November 23, 1941, in Briggs, Texas to Norene Andrews Jackson and W.A. “Jack” Jackson. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who loved her family dearly. Gwenda loved to spend time with her family and friends at their lake house at Lake Travis. She loved going fishing and taking her grandchildren there and spending time with them.
Gwenda is survived by her children, Shelley Swanson and her husband Craig of Port Neches, Texas, Brent Simpson and his wife Christine of Sugar Land, Texas and Steven Simpson of Nederland; grandchildren, Courtney Swanson, Malloree Melanson, Anna Simpson, Payton Emerson, Isabelle Simpson, Charlotte Simpson and Anderson Simpson; siblings, Bud Jackson and his wife Virginia of Alvin, Texas, Shirley Bland and her husband Wayne of Alvin and Jack Jackson and his wife Collie of Spicewood, Texas.
Private cremation services will be held at a later date.
