Guy Garland "Pete" Barlow, Jr., a dedicated Foreman and Heavy Equipment Operator for Jefferson County Pct. 2, bid farewell to this world on June 27, 2024. Known for his unwavering dedication and adventurous spirit, Guy was cherished for his love of family gatherings his welcoming personality as a Member and Greeter at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches.
Born on July 1, 1958, in Beaumont Texas, Guy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His hobbies included lifting weights, hanging out with friends, hunting, fishing, reveling in the great outdoors, and enjoying rock and roll music.
Guy took immense pride in his role as an involved grandfather, always making sure to be early for any event involving his grandchildren. He was recognized for his dependability, his sense of humor, and his love for his vehicles.
In the hearts of those he leaves behind are cherished memories that will forever linger. Guy is reunited in eternal peace with his parents, Guy and Marie Barlow; nephew Gregory Chipman Jr.; and brother-in-law Keal Woodruff.
Among those left to carry on his legacy are his daughters Amanda Henckel (Russell) of Bridge City and Brandi Barlow of Hawaii; grandchildren, Camden Clark, Eisley Stansbury; Tucker Lamance; and Olivia Lamance; sister, Laurie Woodruff of Houston; brother, Michael Barlow (Suzanne) of Nederland; and sister, Eyde DeVillier (David) of Nederland.
Services to honor Guy's life will be held on July 5, 2024. There will be a visitation from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home at 1605 Avenue H in Nederland, with a rosary at 1:00 p.m. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches.
In the tapestry of remembrance that each life weaves into existence, let us hold onto the vibrant threads of Pete's character and spirit. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was truly loved and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
