Guadalupe Silva

Guadalupe Martinez Silva, 86, of Groves, Texas died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Gulf Healthcare Center in Port Arthur. Guadalupe was born January 28, 1923 in Poteet, Texas to Calletano Martinez and Felice Martinez. She was an area resident for the past 48 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Guadalupanas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 22, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Monsignor T. R. Blanco officiating. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m.-8:00p.m. with a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roman Silva; son, Antonio Castillo; granddaughter, Katherine Hodgson and her sisters and brothers. Survivors include her daughters, Virginia Dugas and husband, Blaine Dugas, Jr. of North Pole, AK, Consuelo Rivas of Groves, TX; sister, Mary Carrillio of San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
