Gordon Ellis LeBoeuf, 72, beloved father and grandfather entered into his Lord's presence on December 10, 2009 at Odyssey House, a Hospice facility in Conroe, Texas. He fought a long and difficult battle with congestive heart failure. Mr. LeBoeuf was born on October 8, 1937 in Port Neches, Texas. He had returned to Port Neches, the hometown he dearly loved, several years ago, but moved back to Houston, Texas last spring to be closer to his children. Mr. LeBoeuf graduated from Port Neches Groves High School in 1956 where was a standout football player. He played on two State Championship teams (1953 and 1955), and was a State finalist in 1954. He won All-State honors three consecutive years (1953, 1954, and 1955) while leading the State in rushing in 1955 with 2150 yards. Today that mark still stands as the single season rushing record at PNG, and before his passing, he made it known to us that he was very proud to own that record. His 1, 659 yard total in 1954 continues to hold third place among the All-time leaders. He was a High School All-American in 1955. Following high school, Gordon played college football for Coach "Bear" Bryant at Texas A&M, where he won All Southwest Conference honors. He was drafted by the New York Titans of the AFL in 1960. He remained a devoted Texas A&M "Aggie" fan his entire life. Mr. LeBoeuf received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in 1960 and continued graduate studies at both Texas A&M and University of Houston. He spent the majority of his career working in the executive search and management consulting field. Prior to his professional recruiting career, he was in national marketing management with Pfizer Pharmaceutical. Mr. LeBoeuf was responsible for opening and managing the Houston office for one of the top four Executive Search firms in the world. He also founded Carter/Bryant, Inc. in Houston, Texas and served as the corporation's president. He then moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he was Senior Principal for King Chapman Broussard & Gallagher. He also served as a Director for Price Waterhouse, responsible for establishing a retained search practice for the United States. We are very proud of him for all of his accomplishments and enjoyed the quality time we were able to spend with him at the end of his life. We will forever remember the brave battle he fought and consider it a privilege to have been a help to him during this difficult time. We would like to thank our extended family and our mother for helping us and showering our father with their love, and for the relief they provided for us by spending time with him, especially during his last six weeks. He very much enjoyed his family and appreciated each act of compassion bestowed upon him. We would also like to thank the caregivers at Odyssey House hospice facility, who prayed with us and took excellent care of our father. Serving as pallbearers will be Zachary James Hardoin, Leonard James Hardoin, and David James Kennard of Houston, Texas, Trey Maurice Little III and Aaron Jacob Smith of Ridgeland, Mississippi and Cole Michael LeBoeuf of Port Neches, Texas. Mr. LeBoeuf was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Williford LeBoeuf, and his father, Blanchard Joseph LeBoeuf (Sr.). He is survived by his three daughters, Tara Lisa Hardoin and her husband, Leonard, Tanua Leah Kennard and her husband, David, and Angela Beth Little and her husband Trey, and his grandchildren, Zachary and Alexandria Hardoin, Madison and Emily Kennard, Aaron Smith, and Nash, Blake and Tanner Little. He is also survived by his two brothers and their wives, Rodney and Nelda LeBoeuf of Texarkana, Texas, and B.J. and Peggy LeBoeuf of Port Neches, Texas, and four nieces and two nephews. Visitation and funeral services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Port Neches with Dr. David Mahfouz officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-12: p.m. and the funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m.

In the aftermath of the passing of another friend and Texas football player, a couple days ago, at far too early of an age, Rich Stotter, I wondered if Gordon had know him. When I went to look up Gordon, I as saddened to learn of his passing over 5 years ago. I so much enjoyed working and getting to know Gordon at Price Waterhouse in Atlanta. I moved to NYC several years later and Gordon ended up there on a business trip. I vividly remember when he joined my wife and I for dinner along with our close friends from Venezuela. Gordon charmed them instantly. Even though I lost touch with Gordon, there is an empty spot in my heart. My belated condolences to the family.

Port Neches High School days were always exciting during football season, primarily because of the outstanding contributions from Gordon. Our class of '56 has many fond memories, after all these years; and we will miss our classmate. Heartfelt thoughts and prayers are extended to the family.

Gordon was one of the "good guys", of which we sorely lack enough of in today's troubled times. God Bless.

Gordon and I met in the first grade. He was a friend to everyone. After we graduated from high school, we all went out separate ways. Then, at a planning meetng for our 50th high shool reunion, I had the opportunity to visit with Gordon again. It was great visiting and catching up with one another, after all these yesars. I wish to extend my sincere sympathy to the family during this time of sorrow. May God fill your homes with the peace and comfort that only comes from Him. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
