A Life Remembered

Obituary

Goldie Jean Henderson Johnson, a beloved Licensed Vocational Nurse at Beaumont Medical Surgical Hospital, touched the lives of many with her cheerful and outgoing nature. She was known for never meeting a stranger, always bringing light and warmth to those around her.

Born July 8, 1935, in Port Arthur, Texas, Goldie's journey came to a peaceful end on July 4, 2024, in Plano, Texas. Throughout her life, she completed her education at a Technical School and built a career dedicated to caring for others.

Goldie will be remembered for her vibrant personality as a member of First Baptist of Plano, where she shared her faith with everyone she met. Her memories include playing bingo at the apartments, indulging in her love for crocheting and cross-stitching, creating beautiful miniatures, and finding solace in reading her Bible multiple times daily.

Her family was at the core of Goldie's heart. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Moffette D. (Bud) Johnson, and her parents, Wm. Neal and Sammie Henderson. She leaves behind a legacy cherished by her daughter, Carol J. Landry; son and daughter-in-law, Guy W. and Phillis Johnson; grandchildren, Kristina Herman-Bischoff and husband, Willi Bischoff, Brett S. Johnson and wife, Selena, Rusha Silman and husband Justin; great-grandchildren Dominique L. Herman, Kloey Wolfe, Cooper Johnson, and Kiley Dronet and husband Jay.

A Visitation followed by a Funeral Service to honor and remember Goldie's life will take place on July 9, 2024, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. The visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service starting at 1:00 p.m. and concluding at 2:00 p.m.

In the wake of Goldie's passing, let us carry forward the joy she brought to our lives and the love she shared so generously. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she made a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
